My name is Fritz* and I am a sound machine – whoosh, tprrr!
Born in front of the Bavarian Alps, I grew up fascinated by all kinds of explorers and cows. My curiosity led me to many adventures like falling twice into a fountain aged four, finding my creative freedom through skateboarding and getting electric-shocked during my apprenticeship as an electronic technician… You know, I like to challenge myself ;)
I ended up in Australia and Asia, overwhelmed by the inspiring people I met, their stories and the rawness of nature. Around that time I discovered an intrinsic need to help others.
All of this brought me to study Interaction Design at the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd – a renowned University continuing the work of the Bauhaus and HfG Ulm. During that time I interned at stellar in Ulm and ended up once again on the other side of the world to study Media Design in Wellington, New Zealand.
For three years I worked on interaction and user experience design at gravity, bridging the digital and physical world as well as working on strategic, and very secret, innovation projects. Currently, I help people become a better version of themselves at Freeletics. As Digital Product Designer I am part of the collaborative effort of product development and innovation work.
I strongly believe that good design can change people’s lives for the better. This can be a small feature, or a game, putting a smile on millions of people’s faces or a revolutionary innovation for a few. To make it meaningful we should focus on the people and, in times of technologies like AI, not forget what Uncle Ben said to Spiderman: “With great power comes great responsibility“.
And what's your story?
* btw, my real name is Florian
